Being a trained hotel specialist, wine has always been an interesting and exciting topic to me. During my apprenticeship I was fascinated by the variety of wines you could get, and I always wondered what was behind the label.
After I studied hotel management in Hamburg, I moved to Vancouver, Canada, where I finally signed up for an "Introduction to Wine" course in 2009. My teacher advised me to take the WSET® courses, in order to get a foot in the door within the wine trade in Canada. In Canada, the WSET® courses are usually a qualification you need to have if you want to work in the wine business.
Said and done! Only three months later I was enrolled in the WSET® Level 2 course and only six months after that I took the WSET® Level 3 course, which I even passed with distinction.
After my four years in Canada, I came back to Germany in 2012.
In 2013 I enrolled in the WSET® Diploma (WSET® Level 4) at the„London Wine & Spirit School“. This is a two year study program for wine and spirits. I became a certified Educator and APP (Approved Programme Provider) for WSET® in 2013.
Wine is an exciting field that never stands still and one can never know enough about it!
I look forward to meeting curious, inquisitive and passionate students at the International Wine School!
Best wishes,
